Guidance on certification of natural disasters and epidemics in the implementation of agricultural insurance support policies
The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development has just issued the Circular No. 09/2020/TT-BNNPTNT dated 24 July 2020 guiding how to confirm natural disasters and epidemics in the implementation of policies to support agricultural insurance.
The Circular will take effect on September 28, 2020.
The determination of damages and compensation for agricultural insurance comply with the agricultural insurance contract as specified in the Decree No. 58/2018/ND-CP and the legal regulations on insurance business.
Agricultural production organizations and individuals; assurance companies; competent state agencies related to the certification of natural disasters and epidemics in the implementation of agricultural insurance support policies as prescribed in the Decree No. 58/2018/ND-CP are subject to the application of the this Circular.
The Circular 09/2020/TT-BNNPTNT guiding certification of natural disasters to enable determination of insured events; instructions for certifying animal diseases, when there are insufficient conditions for epidemic declaration, to determine insured events; instructions for certifying plant pests when they do not have enough conditions for epidemic declaration to determine the insured event. Meantime, it regulates the implementation responsibilities of the Department of Cooperatives and Rural Development, the Authority of Natural Disaster Management, the Plant Protection Department, the Department of Animal Health and the Provincial People's Committee.
