Vietnamese milk to be exported to China via official channels
In the afternoon of April 26, 2019, with the presence of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Chinese Prime Minister Ly Khac Cuong, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam – H.E. Nguyen Xuan Cuong handed over the Protocol on veterinary and public health requirements for Vietnamese dairy products exported to China to Mr. Hung Ba, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in Vietnam.
In the agenda of the visit of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and the high-ranking delegation of Vietnam in Beijing, China from 25th to 27th, April 2019, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Cuong and China General Director of Customs Ni Yeu Feng signed three important cooperation documents in the field of agriculture, namely: Protocol on veterinary and public health requirements for Vietnamese dairy products exporting to China; Protocol on phytosanitary requirements for mangosteen exported from Vietnam to China; and a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a mechanism to prevent and control plant pests in the border areas between the two countries.
These signed Protocols are very important legal basis to create favorable conditions for Vietnam's milk to be exported officially to a potential market with 1.4 billion consumers. This is also a commitment between the two governments and authorities of the two countries on the exchange and circulation of milk and dairy products to promote the development of dairy farming and materials for milk processing and dairy products of Vietnam in the near future.
